The Instituto Cervantes offers Spanish language classes of all levels as well as special courses for business, medical and law professionals, children and teachers and cultural enrichment courses for those who enjoy cinema, literature, music and art of the Spanish-speaking world.
We offer comprehensive Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced and Superior Spanish level courses. Each level has four sub-levels, e.g. Beginning 1, 2, 3 & 4.
Beginning 1: This class is for absolute beginners. This course is 30 hours in length and is available either in the morning or the evening. You do not have to take a placement test for this class.
If you have any knowledge of Spanish, you must take a placement test to ensure that you are placed in the appropriate level. In each sub-level course you receive 30 hours of Spanish instruction.
Once you successfully complete your Spanish Course, you may move up to the next level. For example, if you place at Intermediate 1 and then finish this course, you may take the Intermediate 2 class when it is next offered.
Our experienced teachers are highly qualified, native speakers of Spanish and experienced in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
We offer morning, afternoon, and evening classes during the week and classes on Saturdays.
Our small classes of 5 to 12 students provide ample opportunities to practice conversation. We offer a wide range of placement levels for our regular courses to ensure that students are in the right class.
Corporate, private, small group and individual instruction is also available.
All students, except absolute beginners and continuing students, must take a placement test before registering. Please allow one hour for the placement and registration process. Placement tests are kept on file for one year after the test date.
Placement tests are offered in Albuquerque by appointment only.
Please call the Albuquerque office at (505) 724-4777 for an appointment or email adxabq@cervantes.es to request the placement test via email.
Class attendance is the student's responsibility. We regret that it is not possible to make up a missed class by attending another class.
